One of the most common questions we get asked is, “Do I have to promote or sell dōTERRA products in order to set up a consultant account”? The answer is absolutely not.
The Wellness Advocate program is in place to offer product users deeper discounts on dōTERRA’s many wonderful products. This program allows you to purchase products at 25% off retail prices and comes with additional benefits; such as your own private virtual back office where you can place orders, track orders, access product information and much more. The consultant account also allows you to take advantage of the dōTERRA’s Business Opportunity. Your set up fee provides you with your own business website, business training and free marketing tools. There are no monthly fees associated with any of these amazing tools and no obligation to take part in the opportunity.
To recap:Is there a monthly order minimum? Nope. You do not need to have a monthly order to benefit from being a Wellness Advocate, Preferred Member or a retail customer. Wellness Advocates pay a $35 annual membership fee and Preferred Members pay a $10 fee. I don’t really want to sell essential oils. Do I have to sell doTERRA products to be a Wellness Advocate or Preferred Member? Of course not! Since there is no monthly order requirement you can just order whenever your family needs it. There is no requirement to have a business.
So, how do I sign up? Choose if you want to LIVE, SHARE or BUILD dōTERRA.
dōTERRA If you’re only interested in using dōTERRA products for personal use but want to save money on all purchases then the Preferred Member OR the Wellness Advocate account is for you. I <3 my customers and would love for you to purchase from me at a discounted rate! The Wellness Advocate account is the best deal if you are going to spend over $140 in the course of the year. (That’s the break even point) The Preferred Member account is for the person who only plans to purchase a few times a year and not participate in the LRP program. (It is available – but must be called in on the PM account since the PM doesn’t have a back office)
dōTERRA If you are interested in learning more about oils and sharing them with family and friends then the Wellness Advocate account is for you. Use the money you make selling to help pay for your own products! Save even more through the LRP program. Don’t want to “sell?” That not a problem!

SIGNING UP for Wholesale Prices (as a Wellness Advocate) : STEP BY STEP
(The process is similar for a Preferred Member account. Just select “Preferred Member” in step #2)
1. Click over to the sign-up page and enter your country.
2. Select “Wholesale Prices”
3. The “Enroller ID” and “Sponsor ID” boxes should already be filled in for you. But if not, enter 513887 in both boxes.
4. Fill out your name, billing address, shipping address, and contact info. (The reason you are asked to list your social security number is for tax purposes. If you make over $600/year selling doTERRA products, you will receive a 1099 form in the mail, as is required by law. doTERRA will never share this info with anyone.)
5. Select your time zone and choose a virtual office password.
6. Agree to Terms & Conditions and the Virtual Office User Agreement. (The basic version of the virtual office is free. There is an upgrade option available, but you won’t need to worry about that for a while.)
7. Select your enrollment order. This is where you can specify which enrollment kit you would like -OR- if you’d rather not start with a kit, simply select the Introductory Packet ($35) option. You can also purchase other items at this time if you wish.
8. Set up your *optional* Loyalty Rewards Program (LRP). Don’t be confused by this step. This is not a requirement to sign up as an IPC, just a money-saving way to build your oil collection. This is a rewards program you can opt into so that you can start earning money back to help pay for your oils. You can skip this step and decide if you would like to add it on later in time. The longer you participate in the LRP, the more credits you can earn–up to 30% of your total monthly Loyalty Rewards purchases.
9. That’s it- congratulations on starting your doTERRA adventure! You will receive a confirmation email– you can log into your back office right away to manage orders, check your team, and send messages. You are now a doTERRA Wellness Advocate!
